The current position
CHA uses Google Analytics 4 in consent mode. Before a visitor allows Analytics, analytics storage is denied and Google receives only limited cookieless measurement signals. If the visitor allows Analytics, GA4 may use analytics cookies for fuller measurement. CHA does not deploy Meta Pixel, advertising cookies, behavioural profiling or session replay. The website uses limited device storage for privacy choices, newsletter-prompt preferences and, only when requested, a nomination draft. Newsletter forms are supplied by Kit and accept information only when a visitor chooses to subscribe. Privacy-enhanced YouTube players are blocked until embedded media has been allowed.
Hosting infrastructure may process ordinary request and security information needed to deliver the website, such as IP address, user agent, request timing and error/security logs. These are not used by CHA for advertising.

Google Analytics 4
CHA uses Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate website use, including pages visited, approximate visit source, device/browser category, broad geographic information and interactions such as page views. CHA does not send nomination form contents, names, email addresses, uploaded evidence or other deliberately supplied form information to Google Analytics.
The Google tag uses Advanced Consent Mode v2. Analytics storage is denied unless the visitor allows it; before permission, Google may receive limited cookieless signals that communicate consent state and basic page measurement without setting Analytics cookies. Advertising storage, advertising user data and advertising personalisation remain disabled. When Analytics is rejected or withdrawn, CHA keeps analytics storage denied and removes Google Analytics cookies accessible on the CHA domain.
Google explains that GA4 uses first-party identifiers and device/browser and activity information for measurement, and that it does not log or store IP addresses. See Google’s data safeguards information and GA4 cookie information.
YouTube and external media
Before permission, CHA uses its own local event photographs as video covers. It does not request YouTube thumbnails or player code. If embedded media is allowed, the player uses YouTube’s privacy-enhanced domain and loads only after a play action. This reduces initial tracking but does not make YouTube a CHA service.
You can always follow an “Open on YouTube” link instead. Doing so takes you to a third-party service whose cookies and privacy practices are governed by that service.
Accept, reject or change your choice
The first-level notice gives equally visible options to accept all currently used optional technologies, reject non-essential technologies, or manage Analytics and Embedded Media separately. Neither category is pre-enabled.
Use Cookie Preferences in the footer at any time to change either setting. You can also clear site data in your browser. Turning Analytics off prevents Analytics cookie storage, removes accessible CHA-domain analytics cookies and returns measurement to limited cookieless signals. Turning embedded media off stops new YouTube players from loading and removes an active embedded player from the page. Information already processed by a third party is governed by its applicable retention rules.
A nomination draft is user-requested storage rather than a background tracker. Clearing browser storage may permanently remove that local draft.
If the technology changes
If CHA later introduces marketing or another non-essential technology, it must update this policy, update the preference interface and obtain an appropriate choice before that technology loads. A choice for Analytics or Embedded Media will not be treated as consent to a new unrelated purpose.
